Aeroflot closes sales of tickets to Turkey for Russians
MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s flagship air carrier Aeroflot has closed sales of tickets to Turkey for Russian citizens, while they are still available to foreigners, a spokesman for the company told PRIME on Wednesday.
“Sales (of tickets) from Russia to Turkey have been closed for Russian citizens. Sales from Turkey are still available. Foreign people still have an opportunity to buy tickets (from Russia to Turkey) in the call center of the airline and in our sales office at Sheremetyevo (airport in Moscow). Sales in the offices of agents and on the Web site of the airline are closed,” the spokesman said.
Russia’s Transport Ministry suspended regular flights to Turkey by domestic airlines on Monday due to political events in the country.
The spokesman for Aeroflot said the company plans to leave one daily flight between Moscow and Istanbul starting from July 26 instead of two flights a day.
